Early June---a small seed obtained from last year's pod
Plant about 1/2 inch deep in warm well drained soil.
Love and water carefully....remove any grass that tries to overpower it.

Mid- July Blooms will appear if you have treated it with the right respect and care.
Pods appear soon after...cut these carefully at the point where the pod meets the stalk.

Place in a safe contatiner to prevent bruising.

Cut each pod into 1/2 inch sections, coat with flour and seasoning...throw it all into an iron frying pan of hot oil....
mmmmmmmmmmm fried OKRA the world's greatest gift!

(It can also be added to a skillet full of fresh quartered garden tomatoes with sliced onion....)

I don't know how to give my vegetable any more love and respect than that!
