If you received an email recently that looks like the one below, please accept my apologies. We do a pretty good job here of keeping spammers off the forum (as you can see from the "Spam-o-matic" statistics you can see in the bottom part of the page when viewing the list of forums here) Last I saw it was 644 spammers denied registration (It's actually many more than that - those are just the ones who managed to get through our first two lines of defense - the human verification and the spam-bot checker (which measures how much time it takes for a new member to fill out the registration. If it's too fast, the system knows it can't be a human, but more likely a spam bot. Anyway, every now and then, a spammer gets through, which happened recently. A user named "Fletchy" registered and immediately began sending members emails as seen below. As soon as I received his solicitation, I deleted his account, but I don't know haw many he managed to spam before I caught it. If you do get unsolicited emails (unless they are from someone you know), don't click on any links contained therein as you are likely to get a virus or malware on your system if you do.

I just checked the joint out. I hate to say this, but I think it may be usefull. It seems to be a cross b/w car-part.com and ebay for foreign market car parts.

Of course it's up to you, but I would NEVER advise clicking on an unsolicited link from someone I didn't know. It's a very good way to get malware on your PC. Not saying that's the case here, but it could be. That's how they operate.

I checked it out first. I did a google search and it seemed legit so I went in. It aint blow'd up yet so it appears the coast is clear.

If they're legitimate... ask/get them to advertize legitimately....

Honestly, even if they are "legitimate" anyone who would register on a forum and use it as a gateway to spam users with their marketing isn't a business I want around anyway.

True, just send 'em a bill.

Maybe they are unaware paid advertisement is required. It may not be them doing it but someone their hired doing it w/o their knowledge or consent.
