I just looked at your photos. They remind me of why after restoring an MGA in 1982, I never wanted to restore another car, and never intended to.
As lack of luck would have it, I found a TR3 on Craig's list in fall 2009 that supposedly needed nothing. That of course turned out not to be the case.
I was really reluctant to begin a restoration process again, but it turned out that a garage lift I bought years ago to store a car made quite a big difference this time and I have really enjoyed the process. Among other things, not having to repeatedly get up and down made it so much easier, as of course did not having to slide under the car. Also, being able to see and do my work at the best angle just made it that much better. Probably one of the best parts was that it let me raise the project up out of sight for a while when I just don't want to deal with it!
Its been so good that I finished the TR3 in the spring and am now working on a MGTF. Anyway, its just something that you may want to consider (and no, I don't sell lifts).
