Next time the B-17, Aluminum Overcast, is in town, I'm taking a ride in her.
About $400 or so.
A friend of mine took a trip to Moscow last fall....$30k got he and his wife a trip to Russia and a tour for the area in a private car....and a 30 minute ride for him in a MIG-29:
" Hi Everyone,
It's taken awhile, but I've finally got some video of the Mig flight. Thanks to good work by a good friend, you don't have to watch the whole video with the boring Russian music. This video is short (11 min), and is a pretty good sampling of the flight. The only actual flying I'm doing on it is the series of 3 aileron rolls-which I thought I did reasonably well. He cut out most of the flight at altitude (68,241 ft) which was nice but boring, and a lot of me fighting the heavy G loads (I stayed awake). Our max speed was MACH 1.9 (1410 MPH). It was a blast! I highly recommend it for anyone with more money than brains. So if you want to waste 11 min of your life watching me have fun, click on the link. If anyone wants to see more, let me know. Hope you like it.
Blue Skies, Mike"
They are asking $400 for a ride in a 25? Sounds right, they drink fuel like it's going out of style, but I flew a 25 and I certainly wouldn't pay 400 bucks to fly one again! Quite an aircraft, if you can stand the noise and high pitch of the propeller tips, which are right behind your ears. A good noise canceling head set is a must. PJ

When I was conducting site surveys for the North Warning system all along the coast of Labrador and Baffin Island, we came upon the crash site of This B-26 Marauder. Note the Pilot's log entries. Very sad story. I have also been to the village of Hebron that is mentioned in this story. It was literally on the other side of a fjord - about 5 miles from the crash site. If only...

What bothered me was watching the fluid leak out of the starboard engine just before take off.
