Easy guys - keep it clean. I'm talking about the engine to bellhousing. I spent about 5 hours today doing a 30 minutes job all because one of the dowels was oversized or the bellhousing was underside for the dowel.

Given all the DPO etc I doubt that this was unique to me - even though they tell me I'm "special" - so learn from my pain and double check this if it won't mate properly and you've made sure to line everything up properly.

Thanks for posting. It would probably have taken me more than six hours to figure it out. Interesting though, I thought the dowels were all the same, 3/8 exact. Perhaps yours had gotten mushroomed a bit?

Hi Tom - it was perfectly round actually. My guess is that someone had an issue and +1 the dowel size and when I swapped out the transmission the bellhousing hasn't been drilled out.

Odd eh?

Thanks for the heads-up. I'm with Tom that this would probably have taken me longer to figure out and driven me nuts in the meantime!

Hi Randall, doing this from a very tired and sunbaked memory but I think the top left dowel was 9.5mm and this one was 9.75 or 10mm. That could be off as I said, but it was noticeably bigger once I put the correct size one next to it.
