IE9

Yo...computer experts : )

My new computer came with IE9 installed but the company I work for has issues on their website with some processes in IE9. I have to input info and print off PDF files from them but when I try to set up to print from them, the screen says setting up then goes blank and locks everything.

So...How hard is it to uninstall IE9 and install IE8 which worked before? If someone can explain it to me in plain english layman's terms, I would appreciate it very much. Thanks.

I have IE9 on my iMac (I have Windows 7 installed under Bootcamp). I have issues with IE9 always giving me messages "Internet Explorer has stopped working and must shut down." Not a big fan of IE9 right now.

Same thing with me and I can't do any of my actual job work !! Company IT hasn't called me back so I'm not a happy camper.

Hi Gary. Why not install Firefox, and just leave IE9 to its own misery?

https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html

Personally, I'd rather not struggle with all the inter-connections of IE and Windows, removing, cleaning, re-installing, etc.

I've been using Firefox for over five years, on Mac, Windows, and Linux.

Take a look: IE9 back to IE8

My understanding is you can only have one MicroSlime browser at a time, but you can un-install and re-install anything you want. I am still looking for IE6. I HATE all the doo-dads on the newer ones. I do NOT want it continually asking me if I want to add a site to faster-searching,

Tom...I doubt seriously that the company I work for is compatible with Firefox. Seems they have set up on IE8. Still haven't gotten them to call me back.

Thanks...I looked at it. The problem I see is that this new computer CAME WITH IE9 on it. If I uninstall, it won't have IE8 to just fall back on. I won't be able to get on the "net" to download it. Right??

Save it to your desktop. Find IE8, download it, it should ask you "where" you want it saved. Save it to your desktop so you don't have to call out a search party. When you kill 9, you don't even have to be connected to load 8 from your desktop.

I have W7 and IE9 on my Dell and they work fine.

I have XP and IE8 on a Dell work computer and I kept getting the "Internet Explorer has stopped working and must shut down."

Gary - how'd you come out? Did you get IE8 installed ok?

By the way, you could just go ahead and install Firefox, and at least *see* if it works with your company's website ....

Tom

I haven't had time to do the IE8 install yet. All of a sudden my company website started working with IE9...don't have a clue why. I'm keeping my eye on things : ) Thanks.
