I had to take my "new" MGB to church this past Sunday, as my wife had wrecked the other car. In any case after exiting the B, one of my parishioners said to me, "when did you agree to take Stewardship of a little English Car?" I have never thought of it in that way, but in reality we don't "own" these things at all. We are simply in charge of their care for some time. I know I buy mine presents and accouterments almost every month (more than I buy the wife for sure). Strange thing this relationship...FYI, the B has still not revealed her name to me.
 
Sometimes it takes a little while before it will reveal its name, but it will when you earn its trust. These LBC's of ours have something that modern cars don't and that is personality.
 
I've said it for years: I'm just the custodian for the next owner. I try to make it easier for them.
 
OK, my 51 MGTD came in a lot of pieces most in boxes. The engine had water in it from rain and the car had been sitting for 15 years. After gitting all of the stuff home I found out it was missing a lot of pieces. I bought a 72 MBG-GT that was all rusted out, but the engine looked rebuildable. I now have the engine done and the rearend adapted to the TD. So the TD will have a 72 B drive train. I put the disk brakes on the front of the TD, which is almost bolt-up, a few minor changes. As for a name it's still basket-case. The name will change when it's road worthy - - maby June of 08.

Little tip: If you do not increase the presents and accoutrements for SWMBO she is going to come up with a name for it that's for sure and you not gonna like it.---Keoke- /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif
