MGB Idle problem

I have a problem with the idle revs on my 69 roadster, after a cold start the idle is 1200 revs once warm, but if I turn engine off and restart after a couple of minutes it is 800 but as soon as I start driving it goes back to 1200. Does anyone have any suggestions as to whats going on

Jabber - what carbs do you have on that engine?

800 warm idle is good, but 1200 revs when warm may be due to sticking throttle linkage. Just saying that because I had a similar problem on my 1974 MGB. Carbs were adjusted fine, warm idle speed set at 800, but when driving, idle never settled below 1500. Turned out the throttle pedal linkage was binding on the firewall.

Just a thought.
