Identify this grill.

I found this grill with a bunch of parts to a car I bought and it obviously does not go to that car.

I was wondering if anyone recognized the type of car this grill would belong to.

Dimensions or something to scale it by in the pic?

maybe a Ford Anglia?

Here is a picture of it in front of my midget's grill as you can see it is small and probably from a british car as they guy who gave it to me had many.

It must be from an uncommon car, I thought you guys would get it right away.

On first glance, it looked like an early Datsun Roadster grille. Not sure, though. Check here - last picture of the blue car...

Good eye, Mickey! I'd no clue where to start. Didn't seem as if I'd ever seen grills like that on any British car.

Right shape for the Datsun!! Darned thing looks familiar, but....
It's not an old Standard Triumph is it? i will have to search through some old mags! This old ad is what made me think Anglia (if you turn it upside down!)

As I said, I'm not at all sure it's a Roadster grille, but I owned a Datsun 2000 some years ago (fun car!), and the grille's shape "spoke" to me.

Fun to speculate, though - thanks for the challenge, Tullamore!

At first I was agreeing it was probably Anglia but now I am leaning towards Datsun. This 1963 Datsun Fairlady Model SP310 has a grill like the the blue one already mentioned.

I think we're starin' at it, Steve. Mickey has the "Sleuth Extraordinaire" award on this'n.

Yep! He nailed that one!!! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cheers.gif

Hello Doug,

if you turn it upside down it does look very like the basic 105E Anglia grill (rather than that fitted to the De Luxe model), i.e it was not full width, and also fitted I think to the Anglia vans.
I think, however that the Datsun is the correct answer.

I have a 1960 105E,& even the plain grilles
aren't as tall as the being identified.

The part-width grille as fitted to the standard 105E Anglias and the vans were, as stated above, not as tall. They were also painted body-colour, no chrome whatsoever on those babies! My first ever car was a 105E Anglia base, Trafalgar Blue with the grille in the same colour.
