It could use a wax job if you ask me. Otherwise it's pretty clean. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I'm just playing, TR7s aren't all bad. I heard some even had V8s in 'em. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I gotta pick on SOMEONE, Shawn!

... The Elan has been VOR so long that friends are now referrin' to it as "the alledged Lotus"...

GAH! Cut me some slacks... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cryin.gif

I was wondering just how effective two simple emoticons could be. Now I know...

I don't mind the wedge criticism. Honestly I felt the same way until I drove one. (best kept LBC secret) I'll just keep smiling as I pass you in the twisties and walk away from you at the lights. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Actually, a well sorted Elan and TR8 could be a fun grudge match. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif

from the foto can't see if the throttle is of the single or double carb set up- a lot of british cars used single strombergs in the 60's

The two decades between designs, the four more cylinders and a contact patch nearly four times larger notwithstanding... I'd ~still~ have confidence in the Elan if it were an autocross contest. Mebbe even a tight road course.

I think it could be tough and come down to the drivers. I've seen some very well sorted Elan's make quick work of other more powerful cars on short tracks. Plus they can have a wicked power to weight ratio. But then, all of that also applies to the TR8. Regardless, it would be fun to watch. And for the record Doc, I expected you to stick with favorin' the Elan. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

No, REALLY?!?!
