Identify these carbs?

A co-worker wants to sell these carbs but isn't sure what they are. He thinks they are MG Midget or Triumph. I only know what they aren't.

Steve, o.k. the a.h. h type for bn1,bn2, and some early bn4's also have the vertical to manifold bolt pattern but no valve, i give up, got me curious, trying to help.

I should have taken a shot of the PCV area of the intake. If no one ID's them, I'll find another camera. I'm at work so I don't have one of my own.

I'm guessing they are mid 60's because of the external float bowls plus PCV.

Those are off either a Spitfire or Midget with the 1500 engine. You will notice the line that the heater hose runs through to help keep things toasty. As I recall they are about 1974/5.

I sold a set of these to a member of another board. Unless they are in great shape, they might go for $40-50 with the manifold.

Oh, I forgot, those are HS2 carbs.

Thanks Ron! I should have added that they are indeed HS2. The intake (which I should have taken a photo of) has four separate openings.

Did Midgets / Sprites still use external floats in the mid 70's?

The early 1500's did. I think after 75 they went to the stromberg. I am not sure when the spitfire changed, or if it did.

Definitely a Spit 1300, '68 or '69. They were the only years that used that PCV configuration. In '70 they switched to the single ZS 150 CD carbs. The Euro version 1500 had dual HS4's, and the US 1500 Midget engine never had SU's.

Steve, the basic HS2's are common to lots of Brit cars, but the manifold is a Triumph specific item. Spits or anything else that used the 1300 engine.
Jeff

Hi Steve;

Sure looks like something from a Triumph; Perhaps a TR4 or Spit:

Hi Steve,
He could go to the Burlen Fuel site. Enter the carb model number and it should tell him what car it went in. Burlen Look for "Search by Carburetter Specification"

....ooops. Didn't see the "Stanpart" inna casting. Good eye, Y!
