Ideas for the rear end??

I hate every mg and sprite rear end exept the bug eyes. That being said I now own a 65 sprite. Here is my quandry, what can I do to change it.

1. The wheel wells must be round. Who makes the best flares?

2. The tail lights must go. Any Ideas? What have you guys seen?

3. Is there a fiberglass bug eye or any other (speedwell)rear end that I could fit on the 65?
 
Obviously, anthying is going to require some work. Spridgetech.com makes bugeye rear clips in fiberglass, but then you'll have to figure out how to blend it into the b-posts and rear deck lid.
 
BTW, there was a race car in Australia that they called the "toolbox" because the front clip flipped forward to open and the rear clip flipped back to open. I'll see if I can find the link.

Holy smokes...that one is beyond my skills. Like the color though. As far as the rear end goes, I've seen a good many variations but I just think you can't beat a chrome bumper unless it's no bumper at all. I think any modification to the tail lights would be pretty difficult due to the way the rear wings rise above the boot. It would take some serious body work to come up with anything that doesn't look out of place there.

Wonders if Bugeye rear fenders can be grafted on to later model rear ends??
 
I have been kicking around the idea of making a fiberglass piece that could be bonded to the tail light mounts of a rubber bumper midget to give it bugeye like tail lights as well as allow one to have an attractive bumpless late midget. The crack between the fiber piece and body would have to be bondoed and painted. I know a bit about fiberglass, but not much about body work, so I am wondering if this idea is even feasible.

any thoughts?
 
Don't see why it wouldn't work. I'm shooting more for something like this. Not my car obviously, I stole the pic from an auction that is about to end on ebay. Beautiful example of improving while maintaining the overall look of the car.
