Ideas for a parcel shelf in a Frogeye

Looking for some ideas for putting in a small parcel shelf in the passengers footwell of my Frogeye. Remembering this is a right hand drive car though that should not make too much difference.

If you could find a stock one from a later car that would be the easiest and probably look good as well.

Kurt.

Ok, I was not aware the later cars came with them. Don't like my chances of finding one though. Still I'll ask around.

I bought a original, time-capsule 1960 Bugeye that had sat in a garage for many years and was in rough but original shape (and sold it), but it had a fitted hinged panel that closed off the rear area. Looked nice, and the latch had a key to secure it.

It would improve the look but not sure how functional it would have been. It's hard enough to get into the back as it is without negotiating another obstacle.

That panel in the back cuts the driving noise tremendously (in a Bugeye).
These (or similar) were sold commercially but are pretty rare now.

Ashley Hinton has a Stainless Steel Parcel shelf available. Can't remember price. Assume it would fit a BE. Far etter than pressed paperboard. NFI of course.

I ran accross a vintage advertisement for an after-market lockable bulkhead behind the seats for a Bugeye, and built my own version. Access is restricted but not as severely as one would think. A parcel shelf might be nice to have but being able to lock up valuables has been great.
