ID this car...

I'm probably way off base here, but the headlights seem Citron-like.
 
My first thought is that it is a German Ford....a Taunus. Now that I have read the entire post about the scene being in Germany I am sure of it.

I can see where Basil is coming from, the headlights are very Citroen Ami-like.
 
Yeah... Never thought of the Ford Taunus... Looks about right, don't why that never occured to me...

The book I looked through didn't give a view of the front end of the Taunus, just a side view and back view.
 
Yep, sure looks like a Taunus alright. Never heard of it by the way!
 
Its kina weird looking. Like a morphed 62 T-Bird front end on an old Jag saloon body.
 
The nose is similar to the Consul Capri, about
'63 or so, it probably is a Taunus...
