ID for 1275 with no tag

My 65 sprite has a newer 1275 engine with no id tag. Anyone know how to identify it from "landmarks"? It has a timing chain cover with a "can" attached for the crankcase breather. Thanx--Owby
 
On the side of the engine there is a clock thing cast in, it gives cast date.
