assemble an LBC than a gas grill. Just spent 3 hours putting the fool thing together - but the steaks were worth it.

Came into the house, told my beloved that I would rather be wrenching my car. Her response - It has four wheels and runs on gas - The grill is a car. Get back to work.

I love that woman

Did you protest and explain that it doesn't leak oil or suffer from unexplained electrical outages?!

It does get as hot as the interior of a LBC ( Healey) though..........

They do leak oil, have electrical outages and ignition problems. Just give it time.

Better yet, you should have grilled the steaks on the hot manifold of your car. Yummy with just a hint of hydrocarbons for added flavor.

I'm with ya, J-P. Put one together for my son last Friday. Didn't take that long, but there was one extra little part left over. Still don't know what it was for. Funny shaped wire clip thingie. Not a reference in the manual, either.

Didn't affect the steaks or the grilled veggies, though!

Elliot, is this what you are talking about?

That's it Mark. This grill even has a radio!

I ~HAVE~ that book!!

Mick, that wire clip may be for retaining the hinge pin on the cover pivot?

Maybe - pretty large diameter clip. Whatever, it didn't seem to be critical.

That clip thinggy is to suspend a can under the grill to catch grease drippings. Ask me how I know....

There's a hanger that came with the grease cup. Unless the clip attaches to that in some way; we thought it might be for that, but again, no reference in the instructions, and the cup and hanger seem to work without anything else.

funny - I have a piece of wire left over too - has some chain on it though. I wonder if the wire clip thingie you refer to is to hold the side burner venturi tube to the gas tube? that's where mine went.

See, told you it leaked oil....

Does the clip hold the gas tank on to the grill? On mine it is a y shaaped thing that is on a wing nut that slides to hold the tank on the grill///

just a thought

No, there's a set screw/wing nut that secures the tank.

And there's another round clip attached to a wire that was hanging down from the side.

It doesn't go with your grill. The packers threw it in the box to mess with you. I can hear them giggling.

That clip unlocks the secret door for the launch codes

I like Don's guess best.

About the funny shaped wire clip thingie. I lost one several years ago, I am not sure how you would have ended up with it, but, is it right handed and metric?
