TR6 I want a stock valve cover for my TR6

Does anyone have a stock valve cover for the TR6 that they want to part with. It must be in good condition (no dents, not warped) and I will pay fair market value. My cast aluminum cover is pretty but it is too noisy. My roller rockers are really loud. (Any chance something is wrong with the roller rockers? Like I need that.)

I don't think the stock unit will help. One of the selling points of the aluminum cover is that it is quieter.

Bill-

Sorry, don't have one, but I'm sure you can get one sourced easily - if not let me ask the club guys around here and I'll mail one over to you. I'm surprised though, I thought the alloy covers were quieter? At least that was the plan for me and my noisy tractor motor.

Bill,

The roller rockers run on needle bearings, do they not? Therefore they should be extremely quiet. I don't like saying this, but the ones That I've heard are very quiet even with the cover off. Now that was at idle, maybe up to 1,500 rpms, not revving it way up.

Guess I need to pop the valve cover and crank her up. Seems I did that a week or so ago to check if my push rods were spinning (they were) and it seemed quieter. I know I had a problem at first with the rockers rubbing the inside of the cover, ground it back some time back. Didn't really see if it was rubbing again. Just waiting till I get my video/sound camera back (soon, I hope) so I can record the racket and let the world-wide BCF help me diagnose.

Bill I have a spare original cover that you are welcome to. I'll have to take a look at it but recall that it is undamaged just needs to be cleaned up well and repainted.

Bill,

Can you send me your address again? I've got my spare valve cover and will be packing it up this week to ship to you. By the way, PM's to you are getting kicked back as you are over your limit.

Thanks,
Alan
