I have a new game I play at car shows.
I keep track of the number of times a person looks at my 60 bugeye and says "I used to own one of those"
At one car show this year I got 11 hits and at another one I got 18 hits.
In Terry Horler's book he explains that since over 48,000 were made and they were inexpensive that people would buy one as their first sportscar and then sell it to get a bigger more powerful sportscar. This maybe happened 10 times for each car so about 400,000 people may have owned a Bugeye at one time or another.

And if you add in everyone whose "brother, sister, cousin, uncle, aunt, grandfather, grandmother" used to own one the number probably exceeds the population of the world.

My Prefect has only been to one show a few years ago before I tore it down for restoration. I was really amazed at how many people "used to own one" or had a friend who "used to own one" or their parents "used to own one." Now considering that there were so few imported into the country, I have to wonder just how good their memory really is.

Excellent idea! This has also happened to me many times in my Spridget and my MGB.
I might start keeping a record of this too.
