When I was his age... I would salivate like that at anything that even remotely resembled a motorcar.
Self-propelled lawnmowers looked like kid-sized F1 cars to me (big rear tires, sidepods, a wing-looking thingie hanging off the back...)
Razor blade packages (yes, really) -- squint a little, as though you're a little squirt looking up at them hanging just behind the druggist's shoulders, and they bear a striking resemblance to an aerial view of stock cars on the banking at Daytona...
(c'mon, squint harder, I was a really small kid and that back wall was really far behind the counter!)
