She dosn't want us to see the color till it is all done or something.

Should have been painted by now I would have thought.

Green? since it's St Pattie's dayn all? hehehe

bet she went out to try and find more of the coffee pouch thingies.

Oh, Brit raceing green would be nice indeed. With just a flek of silver in it. I had a 66 mustang GT like that.

Not hiding. Busy. Writing an article for the newsletter, typing the minutes from Monday's meeting, working on getting our tax stuff together to drop off at the accountant's, waiting on the plasterer that was supposed to be here this morning, figuring out how much paint I need to paint every room in the house and ceilings, finishing up a load of laundry and ironing.

What are you guys doing?

Paint's ready to go. We're tweaking the color a couple shades darker. We have to apply the rhino/hippoliner stuff before we paint. Chuck's doing that Monday, then painting. I would HOPE the paint job on my car takes more than a day. Paint, sand, paint, sand, paint, sand, sand, sand! I'm expecting it to take a couple weesks more likely.

I can't find a stafast red zip window top anywhere so I'm probably going with mohair. Waiting on some samples of the vinyls from Jeff Zorn, along with carpeting and leather. I don't like the Robbins red, it has these flecks of black in it, looks tweed. I also can't find seat clips on ebay or in any of the catalogs and I have to get the stuff in the mail to JetHot and take another boxload up to the powdercoater. Although I want to wait on that and get a price from a guy John is starting to work with. He wants this guy to powdercoat a wrinkle finish on Binabox's dash. I say 'no,' not until I see one already done.

I can't find a red boot either, for around the gear shift. Any ideas?

This was the first mix, too light, going darker.

ONE crack about shiny primer and I'm going to hurt someone.

Buy a black leather boot and some red leather dye...or you can take the boot to a leather shop and tell them what you want.

I just can't buy a red boot?

You can buy a red shift boot from nearly any store that sells car accessories, particularly ricer-type shops. However, you might have to do some trimming or fitting on the leather in order to fit it to your application. Most of those boots are "made to fit" or "universal fit" for newer cars.

I suggested buying a leather boot made for an MGB and dyeing it because that struck me as the quicker way of doing things, since leather can be a little bit tedious to trim and fit.

Edit: I didn't know that red shift boots were made for the MGB...my bad /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif.

True, I was just wondering if the dye would rub off or run off if it got wet, which will happen at some point I'm quite sure.

Thanks Jerry. They got crocs too?

Jerry, don't you have to be a paid member to shop there?

Sweet, they have really good prices. I've got a cartful already, carpeting, trunk carpet, leather boot, shift knob, umm floor mats...

How much is shipping from the UK?

They do some interesting trim work too,...I almost bouht new seats from them,..but the cost was just too prohibitive.

Though,..this green leather makes me wonder:

Might look nice with red carpet and panels /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif

Jeez,... I think I dipped into the green beer a little early /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jester.gif

Red panels green seats and nearly white outside... Wait aren't those Italian colors? hehehehe

No, if I'm an United Statian shopping in the US, I'm using USD.

YES I converted it, still seems cheaper than other places. Not sure what shipping runs though.

lol Kenny

lol Birdie,...just wanted to make sure,..ya never know /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I don't remember the shipping as being outrageous,..it wasn't cheap,..but not crazy high either.

I did get a bill for duty taxes,..but it wasn't really much of anything,..it was like $5.00 on a big order.
