I really don't get rude people

Probably similar proportions of annoying people 100 years ago.

But back then, they weren't interconnected, and couldn't reach each other 24/7!

I can attest to that.
Seventy years ago there were some rude people.
I think then as well as now the problem is they turn up the volume so much it makes you want to scream.

The instant and anonymous ability to be rude has become acceptable. That's why we call it "The Internet".

One to millions or millions to one.

It'll play out and we have to live with the outcome... Or our children do.

Have tried to remain quiet - and don't disagree with any of it. Was at a conference a while back and the speaker said "what the parents do in moderation, the children do in excess."

This level of rudeness exists at every level of society - and not just because of the Internet - the internet just magnifies it. So, if the top is rude the bottom is rude. - and for any/every other vice or virtue this is also true. (and that's all I am going to say about that)

Like I intimated earlier, the occassional rude member is the rare exception here. For that I am eternally grateful to you all.

and you are the perfect gracious example - you set a high expectation and you get worthy results.

I have no interest in being rude, oblivious perhaps but not rude or mean. Besides getting too old for all that, just serves no purpose. And besides my elderly mother would box my ears if I was...
