I NEED PISTONS!

So far, not a single supplier in the US, Canada nor NZ has a set of 3.4L pistons in 9:1 CR on the shelf. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Many specialty companies say they have made them but then ask me to send a cast of my combustion chamber; guess they did not save any data or patterns. I really don't want to experiment with sizing the pistons. Besides, don't the forged pistons slap until they warm up?

Ross Racing pistons has/had about four variations of the 3.4S pistons in their database. I added another not too long ago.

I called Ross Racing but they did not say anything about 4 styles of 3.4 pistons and the web page shows only one: part number 68-21. Ross Racing advised they did not have the pistons but they could make them to my specifications. Just send them one to duplicate or tell them the specifications. Also, it would be nice if I could send the head out and they could used that to make the piston. Eveidently they don't have a stock 3.4, 9:1 to use for a pattern. How big is the goose egg on a 9:1 compared to a 8:1. How big is the dome at the base; what's the height? stock +0.030.

Ross's prices coupled with an excellent reputation puts the company on the top of the list if I have to have custom pistons made.
