Looking to improve quality time with the wife and get her to come on drives with me. We had an improptu picnic the other day on the coast and it was really nice. I have declared Sunday marrige day. Sunday afternoon will be spent on building up our marriage ( not that it needs work, but you can always make one better.)

We are on a strict budget with her just opening her pottery studio and me not having any work right now. The current challenge is $20 a week for fuel and food so things should get creative. Personally, I like being on a tight string like that 'cause it makes it more interesting. Kinda like a picnic/scavenger hunt. (There will be no dumpster diving.)

Even though it's "her" car, she doesn't come on drives with me that often. She enjoys that fact I enjoy it so much, I'm just tryin' to get more out of it for her.

This was/is the first car I drove her in as her husband (wedding car) and I'd like it to be a bigger part of our marriage. I think picnics with it would be perfect. Anyone know a source of a decent case type picnic basket that won't cost me an arm and a leg? Any brand names you can recommend? Thanks!

ebay I'll get one when one of my cars is done.

Thanks, I've been looking there. That one is a bit out of my range and I'm suspect about the cheaper new ones.

Probably a little late in the season but, Target will have them at not a ton O money.

While I don't have a recommendation for picnic baskets, I do want to say "Good on ya!" for making Kelly such a priority.

The way I see it, there is only one thing I ~HAVE~ to do. When it comes to Kelly, all bets are off.

Billy, Might have just the thing for you. Got one as a wedding present and it has sat in different closets as we have moved around. It's very nice and I think it just takes up space.
Will have to check with the other half first. Maybe it means something to her.

Good point Peter. He might not see Billy if he's wearing his camo thong

Doubles as a slingshot! Helps keep pesky bears away. Attracts rangers though...

Don, why don't y'all use it? I'm starting to get stoked about taking her on picnics. Thanks for the offer Don. I just bought one from Pier One on ebay for $10 ($23 shipped) only to be told by my church widda she has one and has been wanting to give it to somebody. I just paid for the ebay one, guess I got two now. Looks like I'm gonna have to invite company.

Seriously Don, pull it out and put it and her in the TR and take off. It's allot of fun.

So many differnt ones to choose from. Some are really cool. Last thing I need is another hobby...collecting picnic baskets. I must admit, I've been considering learning how to make them. There's allot of bamboo behind my widda's house and we have a TON of Kelly's aunt's expensive china we don't use. I might be able to make up some nice baskets and load them up w/ china. NO shortage of plates being married to a potter either. We have some REALLY cool small plates made by one of her artist friends. We fired them for her and I claimed them as soon as I took them out the kiln. I'll get some pics for y'all. They're really nice.

My idea of a picnic is a Four Seasons restaurant with a nice Rose

The ladies LOVE a picnic and giving her a picnic basket is a home-run shot!
My wife went nuts when I gave her this 1963 English Abercrombie and Fitch deal for her MGB. Service for 6.
Plates and knives match her B.
Found it on E-bay....pretty cheap.
Yep...I still love my wife. Even after 36 years of marriage.

I need a rack now. A guy has two rusted out B's in a junk yard wit them. I don't know ow much I can get one for. He's hard to find at times. I'm hopin' $10 takes one home. They are far from perfect.

The Brexton tea sets are very nice and quite collectable. Also, there is a TR connection since Brexton made the fitted luggage offered as an option for sidescreen TR's

David, that's a nice looking basket. What all does it have in it?

I got the one from the widda today. It'll do for now. A real cheap Chinese job. I stripped all the plastic ware out and put in our stuff. I'm using things left over from our wedding for it, like glasses, salt and pepper shakers, cork screw etc.

Frank, I'd rather wicker. I want to get her a nice one. These two will do for now. I'll use the Chinese one till the $10 one shows up, and use the $10 one till I can get her a nice one.

Don, go ahead and talk with your beloved and see if she's willing to part with it, and how much she would need for it. I'd like to get something nice for Kelly. She does so much and asks for nothing in return. I'll never be able to repay her for all she does for me. The least I can do is get her a nice picnic basket.

If your wife doesn't wish to part with it I totally understand. Thanks for checking bro! Man I can't wait to take on another picnic!!!

Billy, is it to late to cancel that purchase. My wife says fine.
It is really nice.

I already paid for it. Reread my above post as I was editing it when you replied. I can give the one I bought to some little girls I know, so it's not a big deal and it was only $10.

How much would y'all need for yours? It would be great to have a nice set up. Trying to build a basket sucks as nothing fits as it should.
