I need a lecture

Hap strikes again. Nice trick the lathe turning to increase port flow, just saw that trick yesterday in my Vizard /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif.

That is great information, Hap!

Mine is a 1500 Midget. I do not know what the guides are made of. They are dull silver in color.

If the tricks you suggest will work for my head, I may give it a try!

Then you have a bigger stem with the 1500, all my fiquires were for the 1275, same deal though you need .0015-.002" clearence on bronze guides and they knock in the same way as the 1275s.

morris, weren't your guides stainless or something like that? I recall that being a point of discussion earlier...

Yes, as I have had no issues, and my guides are standard bronze. Even had a few quick trips to 7000 /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif RPM today!! Nothing broke, and it screamed like crazy!

Rob, I don't know what my guides are made of. They are just the standard guides sold by VB. I said in a previous thread that they were stainless, but I have no idea why I said that. My brain, she don't work so good.

Matthew, 7000 rpm?!?! Are you mad, man?

Sooooo... what are the standard guides sold by VB made of?

Shoot a stock engine can not go to 7K but my previous Bugeye did all the time. About 7.3K was tops, it flattend out at that point. Was a very sweet engine.

Jack, this is a TR lump ... yeah, I didn't want to shift before the finish, and a fast finish it was! No ill consequences, but it made frighteningly good power all the way up there ... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif
