I need a favor

I know someone's in here is bound to be fiddling with there B at some point today and I need a quick favor.

I think I found a solution to fix my very short passenger side seatbelt but I need a quick measurement. I need to know the distance between the mounting point on the outside of the seat near the floor to the front of the vertical portion of the seat. The seat needs to be as far back as it can go and in a normal position.

front or rear mounting bolt? I'd say with the seat all the way back, that rear mounting bolt is going to nearly line up with the seat front vertically.

The front one. I think its going to be pretty close but I'm not sure as its been a few months since I was last in my B. That changes friday /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

OK, now I'm confused - what's the plan again?

I was looking at a seatbelt extension for the right seat that bolted into the lower outside seatbelt mounting point and then bolted to the end of the belt effectively giving it another 12 inches of length. But from the looks of it the extra 12" would put the joint of the 2 belts very close if not on the passenger which would be very dangerous in the case of an accident.

I went and called the company that made the extension and found they offer a roadster seatbelt that is claimed to be a 140 inches in total length. Which should solve the short passenger side belt and then some.

Yeah, that sounds better.

Sorry, Stewart, but right now my seats are out of the car and completely disassembled on my workbench, waiting for a warm day that I can take them outside and POR15 them. It is supposed to be in the 60's here on saturday, so I hope the seats will be back in next week.

But I did go out and look with a 12 inch ruler to see what an extension like you described might do. The buckle side is 12 inches long and does not cause the buckle to be in your lap, so I think the extension on the other side might not cause any problems...but IMHO it would look ugly.

I just fininshed up installing the replacement belts I ordered from https://www.wescoperformance.com/ and they solved all the problems I was having. The belts are at least as long if not slightly longer as the original factory belts and they operate very smoothly without the jerking that the factory and the moss replacement belts had. Very reasonable priced at 65 dollars each. While the company did mess up and sent me the wrong set of belts initialy they were very pleasnt over the phone and quickly straitend out the problem.
