Dear Fellow MGB Enthusiasts,

The Central Virginia British Car Club is hosting its 28th Annual European Automobile Festival on September 15th & 16th at the New Kent Winery in New Kent, Virginia, just east of Richmond. Classics on the Green includes a wine festival and features vendors and food as well. The featured marque this year is Rolls Royce & Bentley. In addition, the festival will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the MGB, first launched in 1962. It is our goal to have at least 50 MGBs on the show field this year.

I am writing to request that you promote the show to all of your friends and club members with MGBs. We’d like everyone to enter their MGBs regardless of condition. The MGB50 component of the show will include some fun activities and special awards within the MGB classes.

Classics on the Green is a pre-registration only show. The show date is Sunday September 16th with events occurring on Saturday September 15th as well. The show goes on rain or shine. Show registration is available on-line at www.classicsonthegreen.com . At the website you can also purchase tickets for the wine festival, pre-ordered box lunches for show car owners, show regalia, tickets for pre-show events, and spectator tickets. There is a car corral for European classic cars and motorcycles that are for sale for a nominal fee. A share of the proceeds from the event supports The Richmond Fisher House at the VA Medical Center in Richmond to provide lodging for the loved ones of veterans receiving care at the hospital.

Please encourage your fellow MGB owner members to enter the show this year and help us celebrate the 50th birthday of the best-selling British sports car of all time. I hope to see you there!

Happy Birthday MGB!

If I were a bit closer, I'd be there!

I'll circulate to our LANCO MG club in PA. My wife and I plan to attend, sounds like a great weekend.

We have about 6 weeks until this show. Go online and register your MGB today! We have a great weekend planned including a Saturday drive and dinner in addition to the Sunday car show. Join us!

I would like to oblige you
as I have 14 MGB's,

But I don't think that
a winery is a good place
for a alcoholic of my type
to attend, that and I am on
the other side of the earth.

The Saturday drive includes a behind the scenes tour of Colonial Downs. We'll be able to drive on the track in between harness races and have our photos made with the winning horse and driver. You can buy a weekend ticket that includes everything including the wine festival, car show, dinner, everything. Join us!

I will probably attend. Looks like I will be going to New Jersey to a show that Saturday and hope to head to Va. for your Sunday event. Right now the plan is to take the Iris blue 63 MGB and my buddy will be traveling in a very nice blue Sunbeam Alpine. Bob

Registered last night for the weekend, we'll be driving our 1970 BGT in pale primrose. Hope to have another couple join us. Looking forward to the event.

Wonderful. Remember it is a pre-registration only show. So register on line soon. I lived in Matthews as a teenager not far from you. Worked at the Charlotte Plastics plant in Monroe making plastic pipe fittings summers while I was in college.

We have 42 MGBs registered and only need 8 more to have 50 MGBs there to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the launch of the MGB. Please pass the word to your club today. We need 8 more MGBs to register right away at www.classicsonthegreen.com. As long as it runs, we'd like to have it on the show field.

Thanks.

Jim

HI my name is jimmie i have a MGB FOR SALE. MUST SELL IT AND I AM NOT ANY GOOD LUCK. IF YOU HAVE ANY IDEAS PLEASE LET ME KNOW.

Jimmie -

First, I wish you luck selling your B. But you'll get much better response by posting it on our Classifieds board.

You'll also get much better response by not posting your request on a thread like this one, which was begun with a specific topic or purpose. In other words, by not hijacking someone else's conversation.

And you'll also get much better response by not typing in all capital letters. That's considered as online shouting by many, and those kinds of posts are either ignored, or cast a negative attitude.

Thanks!
Mickey

We now have 50 MGBs signed up for Sunday's show!!!!

you might want to get a few spares just in case

I have to parade them on to the show field while the bag pipes play. That is a line 300 yards long if they are nose to tail and a very long time to have to listen to bag pipes.
