I miss Tony

There are times when I have things on my mind that I need to share with someone. Tony would always listen to my rants and understand. He'd not have judged me a knuckle-dragging maroon for the deep concerns I have regarding a plethora of topics. God, I miss Tony - get sad every time I look at the "Top Posters" list.

Sorry, just needed to get that off my chest.

Basil

PS: On a happier note, tomorrow is our (wife and I) 35th (yikes) anniversary! We've decided to re-do the kitchen.

yup.... big holes are hard to cover.
Maybe they're open for a reason..... to have grand memories.

Me too. The other day I looked at my Lancia and remembered the time I posted a picture of it buried under a foot of snow with only the tail lights showing. I just knew I would get a response from Tony, I did.

It's very hard still, to realize that he's physically gone. He left us wonderful memories. Strange but, it's almost like he's on a trip and will be back in a couple days. Yes, even though Tony and I only talked a couple of times, I miss him also. We never physically met, but during one conversation, we discovered we were both members of the same fraternity, which was nice, as it gave us something to talk about besides cars. I miss that. PJ

oh, bother.

I hate when you do that.

it picks a scab I don't want to acknowledge.

and the rest of my day will be FUBAR.

don't ever forget, grief is the price of love - trust me, you'd feel worse if you felt nothing

Wow, a short sweet sentence, that speaks volumes. Thanks for that.

:iagree:

Happy 35th Bas and Sybil.

I just looked up a thread on the Sunbeam board for an unconnected reason. Dated 2003, there was Tony asking questions and enjoying the flow of information. Made me smile but made me sad at the same time.

"Don't it always seem to go, you don't know what you've got 'til it's gone...."

I always get a little chill when I see a
past with one of Tony's in it.
Any updates on Jerri?

She's at home, doing home health rehab. Getting more mobility back, and improving overall. We'll be going down to see her pretty soon.

No offense to anyone, but the forum is just not the same since he left us. I have been thinking of posting about him for a couple of weeks and just can't really expressed the way I feel about his loss.
Amazing how one can develope a cyber-realationship with someone they have never met.
I really miss his wit and wisdom.

There isn't a day that goes by that I'm not reminded of Tony. Many of the pieces that have gone into the spitfire came through Tony. There seems to be something missing in the post since he passed. Not anything wrong with them, just a kind of emptiness knowing that there isn't going to be a "Tony comment" to be found in the mix. He had an abrasive yet lovable charm about him.

Yep.

Ain't a day goes by...

I counted on him to give balance to my lunacies, retort to opinions, fracture language right along side me. Our phone conversations were too few and far between but each was enjoyable none the less. He had the esoteric knowledge for filling in details on so many LBC's... and he is IMO a genuine hero as well. I truly regret we never met face to face, just so we could see what kind of mayhem would result.
I'm certain we'd have got up to SOMETHING fun!

...one fer th' Colonel...

I concur. The Colonel!

Having participated in a couple of bar fights (cleanup crew with the uniforms and the badges) I always felt that Tony would be the member I would most want to have watch my back. Doc was the member who would probably have started the fight in the first place.

I think that the fact that Tony is still talked about, still greatly missed, by the membership speaks volumes for the man and the way in which he touched so many lives.
