It's happened again. The british car purchasing ILLNESS took over my willpower again. I already have 2 TR3s and purchased a TR8 just about 4 months ago, but it happened again.
A friend of mine asked if I would keep an eye out for a TR6 for him. I found one about 2 hours from our homes and told him about it. It appears to be a good basic driver, but far from a show car. He decided he wanted a more complete (get in and drive it to a car show) car, so I tried to resist, but I felt this was too good of a deal to pass up. The same feeling I get with every other car I purchase. So, I bought it.
Thank God for having a very understanding wife. I did have to use the old "but honey, this is a great investment". She knows all my investments end up costing me hundreds more, but she played along.
Anyways, I am now the somewhat proud/ambarassed owner of 2 TR3s, a TR8, Mercedes 380sl, Volvo P1800s, an Excalibur, VW calif. custom Beetle and now, a 1970 TR6 driver. Oooooooohhh, the sickness continues.
As my wife keeps reminding me, I might need therapy.

It all starts as an innocent hobby but slowly moves to the sickness stage. You are really fortunate that it has not progressed to the disease stage yet!

You will instantly know you are at the disease stage when you splurge spending for the cars but because of the cars you refuse to splurge at the grocery store!

90% of the folk who get their daily fix from BCF are at the disease stage.

The beautiful blue Miata was sold about 3 weeks ago to help finance my obsession/habit/illness, as well as my 94 Mustang convertible and a Stealth. I had owned the Miata for over 10 years, but it was time to move on. I would upload some pictures to this site, but I always seem to have problems with pictures on this site (I'm sure it's me), but the other site has my pictures.
 
What could possibly be more theraputic than taking and old, once cherished car ( or parts thereof) and by your own hands, erasing all the years that have accumulated?? Works for me anyway...
 
That's not so bad, one of the other members here has cars falling in his lap practically every time he blinks. It's not Tony - lol - but I can't remember the name right at the moment.....someone will know who I am thinking of..... :smile:

My wife is understanding too...

She understands that the more time I spend playing with the cars, the less time I spend bothering her.... :devilgrin: :jester:

And, of course, the less I can complain about any of her little (or not-so-little) indulgences... :frown:
 
My wife is a Psychologist person (meaning I have a diagnosis). I've asked her to tell clients that come in with your illness to say "the only thing that will cure you is giving the car to my husband"
She seems to have an ethics problem with that...
