I met "the Man"

I just got back from a 5-day trip with the wife to attend her High School reunion in Jerome, Idaho. The highlight for her was meeting up with all her old school chums. For me, it was meeting "the man!" I'm speaking of course of Dave Russell! On Saturday Mary and I had some free time so we drove to Boise, after arranging it with Dave of course, and got to meet Dave and his lovely wife Marlene. Also, I got to see his 100 AH up close and personal! Wow, what a stunner!

Thanks for the hospitality Dave! It was great putting a face to the name!

Cheers,
Basil

Hi Bas,
Thankyou so much for taking time out of your very busy schedule to visit. Marlene & I really enjoyed meeting You & Mary. I hope the rest of your trip went well. It's amazing how the internet broadens one's circle of friends.

The pleasure was ours, I assure you. The trip back was great! The weather on the first day was hot, but not extremely so. We stopped at Prometory Utah and saw the sight where the east and west Rail lines were joined in 1869 (see attached). We lived in Utah for 4 years an never made it there, so on a whim, when we saw the exit for the golden spike historical site, we took it! The weather on the second day (from Salina, Utah to home in NM) was perfect! mid-70's all the way. We were able to take the top off most of the day and enjoy the freash air (except for the occassional dead skunk).

By the way I also saw a picture of Healygal on his wall from her visit with Dave!

Hi Basil,

Sounds like we just missed each other by a few days!

Speaking of "the Man," your meeting Dave sounds like a case of "the Man" meeting "the Man" to me, as none of this would have been possible without your great Forum!

You're too kind /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif It would have been fun if we could have arrived at master Dave's house at the same time!
