Bruce Springsteen puts on a h*ll of a show! I've been to some noteworthy performers over the years (Clapton,Santana,Allmans,Crosby/Stills et al,Paul Simon,Dylan,Billy Joel,Chicago, Sly Stone.......)but for sheer energy I don't think I've ever experienced anything like the Boss for 2hrs 45 this evening at the Comcast Center in Mass. The crowd didn't even sit for the first 45 minutes and even then it was only sporadic that they weren't all standing and singing. We were in the distinct minority in not having been to many previous performances.
I've never seen anyone who so obviously fed off the energy of the crowd in such a positive fashion.Simply amazing the way he would transition without even a break and play his own songs and fabulous cover homages to classic Rock and Roll( Devil in the Blue Dress,Burning Love)
Compared to other outrageous prices it was also a steal for the show-heartily recommend if it comes anywhere near you, even if your a casual fan such as myself.

I saw his "Darkness on the Edge of Town" tour in Portland and his "Tunnel of Love" tour in Tacoma. They were both fantastic shows. It's pretty cool that he can still bring it having just turned 60. He was on the cover of AARP magazine last month.

Eric,

You're 60.Wow! There's still hope for me.
I didn't think you were that old.It's a compliment.
You look very good for your age.

Bruce is 60, Doug! (my age :eeek: ). We actually hung out together way back in the day when he was still doing lawn concerts at Brookdale community college and Asbury Park bars! (Waaaaayy back in the 60's!)

Mike:

I recall seeing Bruce in a little place at the Jersey shore.....maybe Belmar or Seaside. I don't remember.

We went because one of my college pals, Gil Lloyd (AKA "stange thing") , played in his band. I took a picture of the band (I still have it). Gil stayed with the band all through college and then quit when we graduated ('72).

Bruce and Gil actually had another friend named "Nial". I think he is still running a music shop in NYC.

So long ago......

Nial, what instrument did your friend Gil play? Did you ever go to the "Inkwell" in West End (Long Branch)? Was the band that Gil played in called "Steelmill"?

Doug,
I'm just a kid at 53

Eric, you gonna be runnin your Spit lunch time at Portland?

Oh yeah! I've been doing a lot of autocrossing this year so I think I can do a lot better than last year. My son and I will be dual driving since he doesn't have his Spit on the road yet.
