Yes, I do love my wife! Oh, did I mention that my Denis Welch fast road aluminum head arrived today? She smiled, agreed that it was indeed beautiful and wondered aloud if a David Yurman or Tiffany's package would also be arriving soon (at a considerably lower postage rate).

That’s excellent Lin. Just remember, after the Tiffany’s delivery, it’s ā€œYour Turn again.ā€ Maybe some nice purple anodized aluminum roller rockers. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/crazy.gif

Greg,
I have forgotten, are you using roller rockers? seems that I recall that you got the setup from rocker arm rebuilders? I had them refurbish my rocker arm but didn't go for the rollers.

The Welch instructions with the head said to use a silicon sealer on the rocker studs. Any suggestions on brand/type?

Lin--

Congratulations on the new DH head.

BTW Mary remarked on the nice earrings that Judith was wearing the last time we saw you guys.

Hi Lin,
Yeah, I’m using the rollers from Rocker Arm Specialists. I’d think a high temp sealer. I have oil leaking out of those threads around my spark plugs. Haven’t had the car in my possession much since I found the problem. Here are the rockers installed. Kind of a shame to cover them. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif

Nothing radical. Will decide on pistons and size probably next week. Will go from my BT7 cam to a BJ8 grind. Decided to stick with SUs, but have converted to a BJ8 intake manifold and HD8 2" variety with cable actuated throttle rather than the mechanical linkage. 1-2-3 electronic distributor, stainless fan from BCS, Phoenix Big bore SS exhaust with their headers (jet-coated), lightened (4 lbs) flywheel from Bill Bolton, diaphragm BJ8 clutch, Smitty 5 speed Toyota conversion, everything balanced, the Denis Welch fast road aluminum head with his valves and springs, Rear Main oil seal kit, Don Lenschow alternator conversion, spin-on oil filter, Cape International cast aluminum valve cover, aluminum oil sump, and Cape International aluminum radiator. I think that is most everything. What did I leave out?

Hi Lin,
I think the only thing you didn’t mention was a coil. Sounds like you are putting a nice package together.

I am using a petronix coil and plug wires.
