I have to agree about #3....I think that guy needed to change his flight suit or else has EXTRA EXTRA large brass "ones"! :laugh:

Well, not to be contrary, BUT: you need to ask yourself a couple questions.

1) Where in the international "pecking order" this nation would be WITHOUT the people who have had the "testosterone" to perform those stupid acts?

2) With a number of those clips having been performed by our British bretheren, is the "senselessness" a shared international disease?

As one who has been a passive participant in some equally imprudent antics, I certainly HOPE they continue on!! :laugh:

Nope, it's comradery and faith in "your boy". It's knowing a guy so well and are so confident in his ability to perform his given talent well, you're willing to put your life in his hands. Our guys do that every day.

X3 on #3. To me that sums up the US Military and the guys that serve in it.

They're brave and they're the best, PERIOD!

I'll put my money on those two guys over 100,000,000,000, screamin' Chinamen any day of the week.

I've never been honored enough to have served, but I definatly get it.
 
I understand and agree with military maneuvers (sp?) and trust in each other and respect highly our military men and ladies. Having said that the clips appeared to show just plain 'horsing' around and I stand by my statement. However, maybe one of the pilots was a female and I guess testosterone was a poor choice of words.

Summarily I think that lack of good sense does not speak well for anyone and I believe the clips showed nothing more that peacock strutting.

I had a student who was obsessed with buzzing.

One fine day he buzzed some sunbathers on a beach. Little did he know that the State Aviation Administrator was one of the sunbathers.

The Administrator wrote his N-Number in the sand.

His Private Ticket was suspended.

I like low airplanes.

I remember well the kick inna pants those ROCKETS produce, too. He was haulin' as that image was made.

I'm not inclined to report any known "incidents" but suffice it to say I was "attached" to both the 48th FIS and 8th TFS at various times.
 
I know that guy in #3!He used to be a turn worker at
Sears Point.

twosheds, in the 1970's i know a guy who flew his cessna under the white stone bridge, a kid crossing the bridge with his mom wrote down the tail number and reported him, i dont think the f.a.a. has given him back his license as of yet.

That sounds harsh!

My student got his ticket back in 90 days, I think.

When I issued him his Mechanic Certificate, I had to make him write a letter to the Feds explaining why he had a certificate suspended.
 
The only WWII buzz story Tercy told me was of his two buddies. One was in a Japanese P.O.W camp and the other a pilot. They were both really good friends. The pilot got word his buddy was in the camp, went to the mess hall and stole all the food he could fit in the plane. He buzzed the camp sevreal times under fire throwing out food to the POW's. The prisoners managed to get some of the food. The two didn't meet again till serveral years later at a school reunion. The prison told the pilot they were all starving to death and if he hadn't done that, they all would have died. Terc' knew both of them. IIRC they were both from the Hattiesburg area. The prisoner wrote a short book about it. Terc' has a copy, I'll get the name of it.


Judy that's right, he's struttin' his buddy's skills. The kinda skills a guy will risk his life to using to help his buddies. One of the things I love about your posts is the female perspective. It's always great to get a lady's point of view.
 
Maybe I need to explain my strong reaction to this kind of behavior. A very close and dear friend of my husband and me was killed in the crash of a T-6. He was being given instructions by a flight instructor who touted himself to be the best and only qualified. Instructor was grandstanding with our dear friend. End of story, both bought the farm. They never knew what hit them. FAA says pilot error, flying too low and couldn't come out of the instructor's insane maneuver. The added insult was that I was on the phone with his wife who saw the plane come down and got there before emergency crews. If you know the T-6, it won't surprise you to know that neither one was in one piece - engine took care of that.
 
Oh my goodness. Yes, I understand your feelings. Well, actually I couldn't even begin to imagine. Oh the poor dear! I do hope she is coping well. I hate hearing things like that. Oh the horror! Poor thing.
