So since I was a little kid I've ridden my dad's triumph '60 tr3a. He had it from a year or two old and drove it every day for 20 to 30 years. He's 77 now and had some health issues and she's been parked for four years when he had it running last and prior to that it sat for periods of time. He wasn't mechanical and live in a smallish town with no real mechanic. Well I finally got him to let me have her, after years of dreaming of driving her. I never have, until yesterday since July I've been working on her when I can saving for parts and such. I got her going and realized my dream of driving down the street everyone looking and it was awesome!
Oh and the gods hate me I planed to drive in to work this morning and show the guys after talking about it for months and it's raining cats and dogs and hasn't stopped. Rats

Congratulations! Depends can help with that leak ya seem to have sprung.

Welcome to the BCF, btw.

Congratulations. It is a great feeling taking a car for its first drive after some work. Sorry you missed your drive to work. If you lived in Scotland you would be quite used to having to change your plans because of the rain!!

That's really exciting, glad for you. No mechanics, no problem, you have the collective experience of the forum to help when you run into a problem. Welcome to the forum!

Glad she stayed in the family - let us know if you need any help with anything. Don't be shy about asking questions!

Great story and good to have another Triumph on the road in the area! The local club is overflowing with MG's and Minis. Good thing you got the driving in yesterday when it was nice out - this rain may keep going off and on all week!

Welcome and congrats. You get your dad back in the car yet for a test drive? Or maybe that's a bad idea, he might grab those keys back from you!

A great story. I may have waited longer than you (I was 46 years between TR drives), but you put a NEW TR back on the roads, whereas I just took over from somebody else. Well done!

Don't be embarrassed: pee is all part of it!

Great job on the TR. It is a great feeling to be able to drive a classic car and to show it off to the guys at work.

Welcome to the forum. Video not available, says it has been with drawn.

Welcome!

The video worked fine for me, but I'm a Facebook member.
Non-members of Facebook will not be able to view it.
For more general viewing, so that everyone can see it, Youtube works better.

G'luck with it!

Ya, I changed the setting so that anyone can view you might check it out now.
