I Just Had To Ask....

.... what else could go wrong.Our Daughter ran her Saturn
out of oil,leaving a hole in the oil pan.So now it sits in
front of our house,awiting the time to put another engine
in it.So my Wife loans her Mazda Protege to her.
We got woke up about 1AM by a phone call.Seems a drunk driver hit & ran the Mazda (noone was in it at the time).
There were many witnesses,& the cops caught up to the guy.
We had the car towed to our driveway,where I noticed that
the hood won't open,& it made some nasty sounds when the
tow truck driver started it to put it in the driveway.
She did get a rental,but we're still down to 2 cars for
3 people.What to do?

Tony,

I'm thinking about it.The Tr7 in Oregon keeps coming up.
I hate doing things like this in a short time frame.
I'd love to have a nice B GT,but they seem to be few &
far between for a reasonable price.

I bought a 96 Caravan - 3 kids no longer fit in the 01 Beetle. 2 weeks later, the guy in front of me stopped, I didn't....no damage to him..."totalled" me. Shipped the van off to my brother-in-law for a rebuild. Several months later get the van back, fully operational. A few weeks later return from my Uncle's 70th birthday party only to find hit and run driver wiped out the back end. Totalled this time beyond repair. Swore off a minivan EVER again.....until someone we know put thier Chevy Venture up for sale. Bought that, took it to previously mentioned brother-in-law for an going over. Fixed what needed fixing, etc. The very next weekend, drive the Venture to meet the Mrs for camping and celebrate our 12th anniversary only to have a tree fall on the Venture 15 minutes after arriving at the camp ground.....

Like I said, wanna trade?!!! LoL Gotta laugh, nothing else to do..... /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

I finally had one of those this past year -- wife and I had the same house, same jobs, same cars, lots of "sames"... First time in our 5-year marriage that we started and ended with much sameness. It was really nice! I wish that for you, Doug.

We got the car to the body shop - $3400 estimate -
- (I was hoping that they'ed total it.
We do have a rental car,but I'd like to find
something cheap/reliable for the short term -
- Sold one of the Cortinas this morning to another
