I just got my property tax bill in for the Triumph

Is that for Tags, or do they charge property tax on vehicles!? No prop tax on veh in AZ and my two year tags for the 56 3 were $32 I think. That is a minor reward isn't it.

Re: I just got my property tax bill in for the Tri

No property tax here either. I went with collector tags. Pay $160 one time and they are forever, can even pass them on to heirs. The nice thing is that they can also be kept and transferred to a different car.

Re: I just got my property tax bill in for the Tri

collecter tags in WI are a one time deal here in WI. No other tax.

Re: I just got my property tax bill in for the Tri

Historical plates here are a one time deal...but you still gotta pay for a new sticker every year...Don't know how much they are individually but I am usually about $75-100 for tags each year all together.

Death and taxes are the only guarantees in life...

My taxes in Kentucky for the TR3 was .66 cents. I found that stuck in the seats of the TR!

Re: I just got my property tax bill in for the Tri

Shannon is talking about property tax. In NC the county taxes any and all of your property.

$22 is great. However, don't get cocky about it. Durham County flip flops from year to year on the value of my GT6. One year they consider it an old car and charge around $30. Then for some unknown reason every couple of years they decide it's a collector car worth some ridiculous amount of money and try to charge me $150 or more. For the time being it's easy to challenge the tax office by sending in "for sale" listings for GT6s showing that they don't sell for nearly what the tax office thinks they're worth. I don't think the same could be said for a running TR6!

Didn't know if you were aware, but AZ also lets you register using year-of-manufacture plates... white on black in the case of 1956. Costs an extra 10 bucks a year:

In Ohio, collector plates are a whopping $16.00 and are good for 50 years. They do restrict driving but you can test drive your car all you want so I like to test something different every week.

Geo,
No, I was unaware of that and next I'm home I'll stop by and see Martha at the Wickenburg ADOT and pick those up. Nice older look.

Re: I just got my property tax bill in for the Tri

Nice that you live in a small enough town that you know the name of the gal at the license branch.

Last time I tried to get this our local license branch staff in Tucson was so obdurate they wouldn't even look in their manual to see if it was allowed... they were certain it was not. Finally went to a privately operated license branch where they were happy to do it.

If she can't put her hands on the procedure, refer her to Policy Title "Antique Plates" and Policy Number "TR 340.20".

I love that the policy number is TR 3... etc.

Re: I just got my property tax bill in for the Tri

You made me look...

"Obdurate"
Stubbornly persistent in wrongdoing

I was always told to learn one new word every day.

Re: I just got my property tax bill in for the Tri

"stubbornly persistent in wrongdoing"
If that is the definition for "obdurate" then that is probably not a good term for what they where doing. They where not doing a "wrong doing" the where just "stubbornly persistent" in not being helpful and American Quality Assistance at its best.

Re: I just got my property tax bill in for the Tri

I was thinking more along the lines of the 2nd definition...

2. Not giving in to persuasion; intractable. See Synonyms at inflexible.

Re: I just got my property tax bill in for the Tri

Hey All, My bill was "only" $40.00 usd and is good for 1 year. Here in wyoming they charge you a % of what you paid for the car to first register it and then for every year there after its based on the year of the car as I recall. We also have no state inspection here anymore.(haven`t had for privete use cars in meny years now) So all smoge junk is off the limerick(I got it that way anyway) and I can pretty much do whatever I want to it so long as I can keep insue. on the thing. that is really the only issue here other then basic saftey suff.(place for lights, plates, ect.) I love life in wyoming! Robbbie in wyoming
