It has only 1000 miles since 1997. The interior is faded but in good shape. We will spend the winter getting it road ready.

Nice find! I’m sure after you get it sorted out you’ll have a great little car.

With only 21K miles and assuming it has not been altered, May I suggest to take numerous (angles) pictures of every detail of the car. Engine, front, each side in opposite angles, close up of bolts and wiring used and positions of wiring, all along the underside where the shroud and other parts are fastened. And more...these pictures will be helpful to anyone that might want to go to a Concours judging on a similar car. It will also help you during any efforts you may desire, to maintain the car in "original" condition. Your pictures should be sent to head Concours Judge(s) so they may incorporate in their guidelines, literature, etc. Put in other words, you just may have a gem of a find, way beyond the toy you have acquired. Good luck and enjoy!

Looks like it was repainted at some point - the back end
should be semi-gloss black.

I'm always curious why a car has been taken off the road..especially for so long. It's as if the owner just gave up and had enough...or died.
Did you get a reason why ?

Excellent buy... Good luck with it. Are you going to leave it as found or hopefully a good scrubbing? Like us old owners, check those joints !!! We tend to dry out over the years!!

The PO, my brother in law, was a bit of a hoarder. He drove it the first few years he owned it, but not alot. About 15 years ago he needed a place to keep it, as he was moving. He moved it to a storage unit, where he went and started it occasioally, but then moved again, farther from it. He did some maintenance on it, in 2004, he had a tune up, oil change, plugs, new battery, etc. Drove it to the locker, then never drove it again. His health began declining then, and has continued to decline. He realized he needed to part with it and knew I was the only one who could deal with it. Hopefully he is still around when we get it back on the road, I will take him for a ride.

Well my guess it will need a lot more than a oil change and tune-up, but a nice car. No talk of rust or reason for repaint. How is the inside dash etc.
