The ice on Lake Cobbosseeconte, Maine, has finally gone out.

My good sir, I can speak with some authority here. ~Most~ of the ice has gone out, but not ~all~.

An area near where Cobbossee stream leaves the lake still has some ice but it's just a matter of days.

We still have a few small clumps of the stuff floating by us here from time to time.

I don't know yet about Moosehead but I suspect the snowmobile sank some time ago.

(For various charity-related contests, folks put money on the day the sled up there sinks).

The excitement just never ends around here.... Floridians, eat your hearts out!

Edit: Oops. My wife confirms the you are correct. She was up there today and the ice has indeed reverted to its liquid condition. I apologize for any confusion.

Figger'd you'd check and report in. I got the news second-hand via Englewood, Florida... but it came from the old marina up there.

Yeah, I'm jus' sittin' here in a T-shirt & shorts pinin' for a good ice melt. Think I'll go to th' freezer for a Klondike bar now. :smirk:

Doc, you could always stick your head in the freezer for the full effect :cool-new:

My initial innuendo, Pete.

Good eye!

Snowed at my house this morning... every morning this past week, in fact...

Yesterday it was tappin' on 90ยฐF as I fabricated a center console for Herself's MGB. Had to do some "Inverted Under Dashboard Wiring Modification" to accommodate the new switches and gauges... Couldn't easily extricate meself from passenger side footwell, sweating and swearing. But I can now state I have experienced my first butt cramp.

Sweating, Doc? Hey, we don't wanna hear it, you who can't tolerate sub-60 weather!
