A Banner Day, LBC fans...

Well, it has finally happened.... I drove my 1957 MGA this weekend... /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/driving.gif

No windshield, few floorboards, no bumpers... But I drove it around my neighborhood for the first time since I started the full frame off 4 years ago.... Runs GREAT.

My face still hurts from the ear to ear grin as I waved at the adoring crowds lining the avenues.... /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/banana.gif

Just thought I should let you all know... Tenacity does pay off. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cheers.gif

Woohoo! Nothing like a drive to keep the motivation up. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Gentlemen,

Thanks for the words of encouragement...

It is odd that as I now look at the A, its personna has changed from a project -- to a classic car... /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cheers.gif

Great news. Lets see the progess pics.

Vping,

Thanks for the note... I'll put a short colage together in the next day or so and post it.... /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cheers.gif

Steve,

I am now close enough that I will make every effort to get it roadworthy enough to drive it to the San Diego British Car Days the first of next month.... It will NOT be completed but I'll drive it there anyway.

After that... interior and detail work... then... the next SoCAL British event... Oh yeah!!!! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbsup.gif

Grats, that first drive is the win.

So, now you're ready to tackle mine?

Tony,

I feel so good that I am ready to tackle ANYTHING...

My wife and I went to the MG Club meeting last night and she fell in LOVE with an 'Iris Blue' 1600 and wants one for herself... Mine is black.. I must either tear mine apart and repaint it IRIS BLUE or get another project for her...

I ain't gonna repaint mine...

As if I have time to do another....

Steve,

My wife skips from 'want' to 'have' in a heartbeat!!

I'm the one who has a lists of 'WANTS'... her's is a list of HAVES.. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wall.gif

Well, might as well buy a coupe then. At least it will be different from yours! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Steve,

hmmmm... I had been thinking of a Coupe anyway... OMG.. don't do this to me.. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/devilgrin.gif

Simon,

Worst case we can meet at the British Car Days on October 7th. I will either drive the A (HOPEFULLY) or limp there in my B.... /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Give me a call...
/bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbsup.gif

Ok, the reality then. Coupes are loud, hot and cramped.

Did that get it out of your head? Me neither. They're beautiful, have roll-up windows, locking doors and more storage space than a roadster. *sigh*

Steve,

ARGH... /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wall.gif

Stay focused on the A you have, Ron, Stay focused... Once I start thinking about another car... /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/rolleyes.gif

The Coupe IS really nice looking tho... /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif
