Oh, wasn't it a Canard that Bob Denver died in?`
Do you mean John Denver? I think Gilligan is still alive.

~edit~ I was wrong. Bob Denver died in 2005 of complications in treatment for cancer. (but I don't think they involved a Canard) Farewell "little Buddy"
not to make fun at someone else's death ... but the set up is just begging me!

If they DID use a Canard, then I'd have to say there's your complications right there!

I guess I'm a little dumb, but I don't get your drift about a "Canard" type aircraft in reference to this conversation. Unless your referring to something else? And if you are, I have no idea where your going with this. I don't make light of someone dying in an airplane crash. A good long time friend of mine and his family died in one.

so Anthony tell us what you do for a living - im a flight enginer - sounds interesting just what does that entail? - well usually the co-pilot brakes something, then the captain yells at him, then i fix it. ---- ya doc, thats a nice mowdah! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/yesnod.gif

Spoke with my son who works for American Airlines about the Subaru conversion and he said you can buy a Lycoming or Continental for less. The Subaru is over 30 grand firewall forward, plus another 4 grand for a ground adjustable 3 blade prop or 10 grand for a 4 blade constant speed one. So in all reality, you'll have 40 grand or more firewall forward! I'd go for a certified Lycoming or Continental instead. I don't think many of the automotive conversions have duel ignition either. A must! Also, the cam drive is a single link motorcycle type chain. Don't like that idea either! You would think they would have opted for a duel link chain conversion.
