how much noise comes from the cave. Was out for a short ride checking things out. New wheel is just a bit smaller in Diameter, good stuff, and the rim is just a bit larger in diameter, good stuff as well. Feels really good.

Anyway, so much road noise from the cave. Now I remember why I had put a panel across the opening on my other cars. However, think I will put a couple of bed pads kinda fluffed up back there and see how that does. If it does the trick think I will put some of that sound deading stuff and carpet it. The noise kinda takes away some of the pleasure of listening to the exhaust at low speeds.

Oh the luxeries of todays quiet cars afford us the
abilities to listen to the radio, GPS guidance, use
cell phones, DVD movies, and even soft conversation.

Our collector cars had their days to make their own
music...they have a hard time letting go, so we have
to convince them to modernize.

Dynamat should do the trick, but it's got a silver finish to it so would need covering.

And will also ooze sticky, black rubbery stuff at the seams!! I would recommend checking out sound-deadening materials at your local marine store. They make it in 50" x 24" x 1/2" pieces, triple-layered (foil, rubber mat and foam), easy to cut to shape with a utility knife and effective enough to stifle the sound of diesels through a deck floor!!! Also works real nice as carpet padding!!

Jack & Mike -

Thanks for the comments - car is now apart and at the paint shop. Will get it back and re-install carpet, seats, etc ... Never gave sound deadening any thought. Will buy a giant 'marine piece' as listed above.
