This was my first Bugeye about 1964. A Gymkana at the PACAF HQ parking lot in Hawaii at Hickam AFB. Sponcered by the Armed Forces Forign Car Club.

And yes that was a first place run. Hehe.

Have maybe 6 or 8 more cuts, will post em soon as I get them convereted. Remember this was from old 8mm movie film from way way back.

Awesome Jack, That's great stuff. I have some old 8mm gymkhana footage from the late '50s (MG TDs and stuff) I just had put on DVD. My brother has it now, when I get it back I will find out how you did that and put it on for your enjoyment!

Here is another, it was at the Wheeler AFB lower runway. This is where the only planes got off to attack the Japs during Pearl Harber.

The guy with the cig, and the white Bugeye is of course me getting ready. Another first I may add.

Boy oh boy we had a big time, I also built that timeing stand. We had a first class facility, hehe.

Look at all the neat old cars.

Excellent Jack!!!
Nice hat BTW!

Great!! When was the last time anyone saw a Stangellini? (is that how you spell it?), the red open-wheeler. I saw an old Lotus there too didn't I?

Sooooo very cool! The Dart and the Corvair seem a little out of place. And what's with the Volvo? Where they trying to roll that thing?

Hee, Volvo use to almost roll monthly but never quite did.

Yep was a stangellini (sp), and Lotus, and GOGOmobile, Jags, Sprites, Porche and on and on. Run what ya brung, no problem.

Oh, missed that, second run was wife with me in pass seat. She got to where she could almost catch my times.

Tires lasted two months, recaps all, coral mixed in the pavement.
