I got a new car!!! [LOTS OF PICS!!!]

You can always have a hamburger or hanger steak! You'll have a choice of those or some try a crepe with ham and cheese. Man, this is making me hungry....

not if it's not on the menu. My husband is going to force me to go to French restaurants, as in french cuisine. If anyone know of a place that serves both traditional French and something else, I'd love to know what and the name

You can't throw a rock without hitting a Creperie - best ones are when you are just walking down the street and start to feel hungry, just go up to the window and grab a snack. Wait, now I'm getting hungry too!

I don't think you guys get it. We are talking to someone from Texas. This is the only country in the US that does all kinds of things their own way. Remember they have lots of steaks there. Also I get the feeling you like rides. I don't but if you like theme parks then I say go for it.

I can agree with you about all that fancy food. Give me a hamburger any day over some of the fancy stuff.

They only thing to remember is that now that you have an extra frame you will need a car to put on it. You can't just have one Triumph.

French cooking varies with the Region or Provinces (there are 12 or so), just like in the US. Simple provincial (country) cooking can usually be found in the bistros even in metropolitan areas.
Putting all French cooking in the same pot is like saying "Americans just eat meat and potatoes" or "Italians only know how to cook spaghetti".
And call me a "moron" or whatever you like, UmmYeahOk; you paint with broad strokes, anyway; but there's nothing moronic about appreciating French food.

It's more successful than it was back then, and they've got two parks. I figured since WDW Orlando is full of Europeans, euro Disney will be full of Americans. I've been to WDW so many times that having different rides and layout makes me excited. Plus WDW has kinda lost it's magic, but I'm sure it's hiding somewhere else, like at euro Disney.

There is always WDL

WOW sorry to hear you did not find any appealing meals, I am there every year along with other parts of the world and rarely find un appetizing food (Cambodia and Thailand, watch out) and tread lightly

Update:

this engine is awesome. Definately looks like 50k miles despite what it looked like on the outside. Plus it looks like it may have rebuilt in the past as the piston rod and cap had numbers carved in which made it real easy to keep in order

Piston rings look great but since we already bought some for the other engine, we may install new ones anyway. Crank and bearings look great, tolerances good. Due to my last experience we aren't going to touch any of that unless it becomes completely necessary.

Don't have pics but I don't know what head to use. This one seems to be all original but my other one has orange anodized valve spring caps (flat) and this new head has factory looking black caps (convex). I guess I can do what they did on the wheeler dealer spitfire and pour gas into the valves, see if anything leaks. Maybe that'll help me decide what to use.

If the gas does show that the valves leak a bit, lapping them in isn't a hard DIY process (and I know you're not ready to take this to a machine shop!) Just be sure to check that the valve guides are OK first. Lapping valves that run in worn guides is a waste of effort.

I still contend that her biggest problem in France was that she went with her mother and father as part of a tour group when she was 17. So they were shuffled directly to the places that were pre-arranged, ate at 'experience' restaurants, and had what, 2 days, to take in everything Paris had to offer? If I were rushed from one place to the next and told what I should enjoy, I'd be ready to leave too!

No argument there - Paris is meant for strolling around and exploring. If you don't like the food at one place, go 2 doors down and you'll find something you'll like better.

1) my father wasn't there

2) if we weren't with a group there would have been no way we'd find everything we needed to see, cut through lines where people have to WAIT to see the things we saw, and with a guide, found interest in things we knew nothing about, and would have not have not known about

3) the ONLY place the group went to was that place where I ate snails. Everything else were random places off the streets we walked down when we weren't with the group. These places were as equally bad.

So in a nutshell, you didn't really want to go to France, didn't care enough to look at a guide or pull some good restaurant recommendations, and somehow didn't have a good experience? If you're whining this much before we even leave, I'll go to France and you can stay here and eat dinner with your mother.

 I'll go, I'll go. Was lucky enough to spend a couple weeks in Paris about 10 years ago. Enjoyed the place, the people and the food. Would have loved to see more of the country but time was full just there. Try too see too much and you see nothing.
Good luck with the new engine Richter.

I was complaining about the food. I weighed 98lbs after that trip. (then again, I weighed that much before). I was asking about recommendations here, as last trip we just ate wherever we just happened to be as we strolled through paris, which was something you wanted to do, or sounded like.

If we didnt have a guide, I would have never seen the Queen of England or Pope John Paul, as I would of not known when and where they would be and at what time if it werent for my guide. And I know I would have not done my own research on that subject either, as what are the odds?

I was in Paris 5 years ago, the only arrangement we made was for our hotel. we had a great time, walking and the metro are the way to go. make sure you but a city pass, it gets you into the museums without waiting in line
