I had posted that I have a friend locally (a large area contractor) who wanted to sell the set of 4 brand-new Minotaurs off his decrepit TR3. I told him the car was a basket case, totally unrestorable. He needed to take the car to a recyler. That is exactly what one of his workers did yesterday. WHEELS AND ALL. He was really upset when I told him this morning at coffee that I could probably easily sell the wheels for him. He made a quick call to his construction yard to tell one of his men to take the wheels out of one of his warehouses. That is when he found out that the employee did exactly what he told him to do...get rid of the car. Unfortunately the employee didn't know he wanted the wheels. My friend made a quick call to the metal recyler, the wheels are long gone. I feel badly that I got so many people's hopes up.

I gotta say that I winced pretty badly after reading that. Ouch!

You haven't winced as badly as that (former) employeee did.

I'd bet that someone at the salvage yard recognized the value in the wheels and took them off the car before it met its demise.......check ebay in a few days.......
