TR6 I found another Purple TR6

That's what I thought, but one of the pictures shows it's a respray.

Bubbled paint (rust) in the usual places on the rear deck. What else is lurking below that shiny red paint?

"If I could pick a color for a TR6, it would be that. Too bad the eBay car was painted resale red. "
"I have seen a few magenta cars that were re-painted red. Pity. I rather like the Magenta, it was one of the colours of the seventies "

As the owner of a '74 Magenta TR6 I feel much better! Ditto w/ the 70's comment, the color really fits the period.

A few guys here in New England have them. All are in excellent condition and one is a first class frame off restoration that looks like Bill's pictures above.

My 6 is original Magenta (purple). The second owner of my car painted it white (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!). The third owner stripped it back and painted it Magenta. I then stripped that back and had it painted Magenta in a 2 pack.
I get lots of comments on the colour, especially from kids. It's a very typical 70's colour. I also think that when owners are ready to respray to sell the car they go for red as all sports cars are red aren't they????
Regards
Craig

I all ways thought that color was great for a car even better with gold accents but in GA the color just did not seem so acceptable. Now, I am in LA and I find the color on most any and every thing. And with a little yellow accent it looks GREAT. I think purple cars will sell at the highest price here in LA, we are just crazy about purple. I hope Bill repaints his TR6 to the LSU colors.
