in golf! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif I shot a 97 for the first time ever!! We have a family tradition of playing 18 on Christmas Eve and/or New Years Eve. We had to fore-go Christmas Eve golf this year due to rain but we had an absolutely BEAUTIFUL day today. Not a cloud in the sky. A bit chilly and we had to putt through some ice crystals in the shade down the back nine but all in all, glorious day! Not bad for someone who plays about 3 or 4 rounds per year. I guess watching the golf channel all the time has finally paid off.

I've never been able to make it throught the windwmill or ino the clown's nose!!!

I've been able to break 100 before, but that's usually playing only 9 holes! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

Used to play a bunch with folks from work a few jobs ago, but as that usually was 9 holes and 3 or 4 beers, we never got very good...

I took golf as a phys ed elective my senior year of college...I enjoyed it, and was just about to break 100 for 18 when I graduated and entered "the real world". My game deteriorated from then on. I think it takes too much time to play a round these days, I've retired from "the circuit".

Congrats - I used to play on a team in school. I was sixth man of a six man team. I had a 7 handicap. The 1 through 3 guys were all scratch golphers. They took 1, 2 & 3 in state each year I was on the team. That was 20+ years ago when I played 36 holes a day for free. I rarely get out on the course much now. I'd be lucky to break 90 these days.

I was a baseball player in high school which means I'm always struggling with the change from one swing style to the other. You wanna see a monster slice, take a baseball style swing. The hands come through so much before the club face and it opens up so much it puts a bend like a boomerang on the ball. I found a way to make it work but I always knew that it wasn't right and that bugged me big time. I even spent hours and hours at the driving range trying to make corrections but all it ever did was make me less consistent. Then yesterday, I simply opened up my stance and that fixed it. Now (or at least for yesterday) I was straight and consistent and that's how I was able to shave that extra 3 or 4 points off my score to get me below 100. Now I'll have to wait and see if it will still be there for me come spring! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif
