Did you just edit that first one for the 6K?

My word Bill how would you get it to California.

Mimi has worn quite a bit of makeup over the years.
At least 5-6 paint jobs.
This last one was her 3rd go round in light blue.
The top layer of blue was just a tiny bit off color from the underhood area and the chassis.
The shop had the chassis color matched. There was no need to
re-spray there since it's just a driver car.
This is what they came up with and it is SPOT ON match.
The guy I bought the car from thought the color was some VW color.
Guess that was why it was a bit off...he guessed wrong.
It's definitely darker than Iris blue.
I just call it Speedwell Blue and let it go at that.
That or SpectraMaster 133150.

The chips I've seen for Iris and Speedwell look the same
over the internet. Both appear lighter.

We used DuPont and pic is the touchup bottle I saved.
Thing is my eyes are so bad and the handwriting on the bottle is so bad.....
I am still NOT sure about Mimi's color.
Is that a 'B" or "13" and what the heck is that 3rd character.
Only thing I can be sure of is the 150.
:jester:

In your pics look mighty close to Mimi's color.

The Wheeler Dealer guy called it a handsome color on a Frogeye. They used Iris Blue they matched from a chip.

That beauty has the potential to shoot right up there into the Premier Leagues.
Good get my friend..

Nice car Jack, your car look like Iris Blue, Speedwell Blue is just a we bit darker. I like them both... Looks like your going to be preoccupied sorting things out...

Jack you did very well indeed. Put the rest of it back together and Mama can get a nice vacation for the two of you after you flip it. Or cash for the next BE to come your way.

Jack is that a 1275 in there based on engine color?

That looks to be the 950 engine you can see the side covers and the breather tube 1275's don't have side covers! They just painted it the wrong color, Im sure Jack will be taking care of that little problem.

That is a 948 overbored .050 according to the owner.

What I can not believe is no rust and believe me I looked and looked.

Oh yea, forgot to say that front suspension has been rebuilt as well.

Iris Blue and Speedwell Blue should NOT be the same. Iris is a bit darker (though I've had a hard time matching mine). Speedwell was used for the first year or so. I have a hard time telling... but you may find it hard to get a really good match.

Funny as it may seem that I noted, the steering wheel looks unblemished.

Will get it home tomorrow and provide more pics and details.

How the heck am I going to paint that engine without pulling it. Who was it that had a color for ace hardware pints or quarts?
