I took the F250 ('68)over to pick up the spare
parts for the MGB GT.On the way back,on the freeway,it
died.Pull over....after some cranking,starts right up.
It would go 1-2 miles each time before stopping.
Yesterday morning,I hear the street sweeper coming.
Run out to try & move it ....won't start.I'm suspecting
the fuel pump.Bought a new one - $43.00!Reasonable.
Then last night I went to start the Dakota ('94).I
heard a snap when I turned the key.I tried to get to the
lock on the steering column - all kinds of special screws.
It's at the locksmiths now.
I thought that I might need to pull out the GT,or
the Cortina for transportation.It's raining (agasin).
End of rant.

Yikes, Doug! You don't have the best of car luck these days.
 
Yeah,I thought I was getting ahead.I had a little extra
money.BTW - the locksmith's bill was $114.00!
At least I wasn't stranded.

Oh Doug, I know only too well....

A40 still in bits, obviously... I went to clean the plugs on my Capri the other day and found a broken bracket holding the alternator. Ok, so it has to go to the local garage for a new bracket, he might as well fit the new steering rack gaiters I bought recently... and while I was underneath unbolting the alternator I noticed one rear wheel all damp and shiny, yes, seals gone on the wheel cylinder. So I'm down to one vehicle, my 2002 Vauxhall Brava (/Chevy LUV/Isuzu) and guess what, it's suddenly decided to push oil out through the overflow. An F250 as a spare might be a good idea!
 
I almost thought that I'd have to go get the GT,
or the Cortina.I try not to drive either in the rain.
