In the intrest of what to do.

Emron vs poly and clear seal?

Paint underside, engine room, and inside with enamal or Emron and the exterior with clearseal?

Looking for some help here, getting toward that time and I just am not sure what I should do. Old English White of course. What has worked for you or what have you seen?

86 the two stage paint (color coat/clear coat). OEW polyurethane single stage and you're done. It'll repair easily if necessary and it'll look like it was dipped. A gallon would do the car and leave you with some to keep in reserve.

Imron is a PITA, by the way. Both from an application and repair point of view. Ask the guy who'll be shooting it which he'd prefer.

Ok, I agree as well, just thought I would ask. A second and even a third opinion always makes ya sleep better.

I agree also, IMO the two stage just doesn't look right to me.

Another vote for single stage. The clear coat systems just doesn't look period correct. My painter used PPG Concept DCC Acrylic Urethane. I have the formula numbers for OEW if you need them. Pictures of the shiny stuff at:

Here's the formula for 1 quart of PPG Concept DCC (Acrylic Urethane) for Old English White:

DMC 903 42.9
DMC 935 50.1
DMC 908 97.8
DMC 900 1352.8

With this we used...
DT 870 reducer
DU5 hardener

Always best to get pint made up first and do some sprayouts to make sure it is what you want.

Cheers,
John
