Ya just can't trust these stateside BCFers, can ya?

I let two of em drive my ragged out, barely streetable
old 69TR6 Amos. One of these Expert guys proceeds to drive
the pi$$ out of my poor old beast- power shifting, red lined
tach, straight lined thru double S curves so fast I knew a
wheel was ready to pop off the trailing arm.

So what happens next?? See for yourselves!! I been robbed
so bad, the rear end of my car sits a full 1-1/8" higher
off the garage slab. I hear echos when I drive now.

Before BCFers arrive on island.

AFTER BCFers have driven Amos. Much stuff is missing !!
My new breakdown kit.

So they blew the carbon out and did some streamlining for you eh
grin.gif
? Amos should fly now with all that weight gone  !! I hope all the extra stuff was stowed properly rather than used up!! :eeek:

(Less rattles to chase down too I'll bet!! )

Tinster;

No worries, Homeland Security will catch'em at the airport.

Say!!!! One of those guys wasn't dressed as a Minister was he?

They'll go to any means, be very careful. They might even be accompanied by some good looking ladies from the mainland.

Boy, you just can't trust anyone can you.

Hope this turns out well Dale :grouphug:

HOO-rah!!!

1) MPG thru the ROOF!!!
2) Fewer breakdowns due to inordiate rear end load.
3) NO angst over what to do NEXT... CALL AAA!!!

For any breakdown wot can't be MacGyver'd aside the motorway with a pair of pliers, a screwdriver and a coat-hanger, the toolkit you show as the replacement for all that stuff is ~perfect~!!!

hehehehehehe....

Glad you could get AAA. Very worthwhile, especially since it isn't car specific but person specific. Here's to hoping you never need it, but good to have if you do!

...they forgot the spare tire...

Naaaah. He's now "ballast free"!!!

Were you really carrying a spare fuel pump?
NO, he was carrying 3!! & had another on his dining room table!! hehehe

Hey Tony !!

The bucking bronco engine problems gave my entire suspension
a good shaking.

I measured the tailpipes again this morning, like ya told me.

The tail pipes now sit a full 1-5/8" higher off the garage
slab.

d

But then, maybe you Bruce riding in The Beast might
have added a tad to the coil spring compression ??

You're gonna blow away in a strong crosswind now, Dale.

Yes Donn-

I have four spare fuel pumps.
Mechanical fuel pumps have been the single most failure
prone component on my car.

I had a new one, right out of the box, fail in my garage
before I could test drive it. Three failed while driving
and the one in the car now has a broken primer lever/spring.

I have a hard wired electric installed in the engine bay
as an emergeny backup.

I will soon install Paul's new refurbished fuel pump as
soon a AlanA's fuel line fittings arrive.

Dale - like I said...as that suspension finally settles into place without that 300 pounds of floor jack, jack stands, parts, tools, et.al. that you were carrying around, the front end will finally settle down & the whole car will level out....had Amos been a valley girl, he'd of drowned in the rain because his nose was so high!!

I'll bet the front end is as much lower as the rear is higher!!

Well, I will admit Amos treats me better than the Crypt Car.

Amos had the pride of himself to get me home into my garage
BEFORE he needed some more work. So he ain't broke down.

It appears I'll be pulling off the carbs and installing new fuel lines and new fuel filters. Seems to me I've already been thru this restoration process one time.

I had five in-line filters to protect my carbs. Removed all but two and now I'm pulling carbs again.

Here's a question - did you ever remove the gas tank & have it boiled/chemically lined?

Go by a local radiator shop & ask how much it will cost to do that.

...& why are you replacing the fuel lines?

Of course I had the tank out and cleaned.
I installed new fuel lines from tank to carbs because
DPO Pedro's were a complete mess and dropped gasoline
on my garage floor.

Not a single person told me tank coating worked. All
told me to stay away from them. So no coating.

d

A whole lot of crud in that Pedro tank!!
