Hi guys,

I'm new to this forum, but I'm a pretty active poster on MGBExperience. I've been referred over here while MGBE is dead.... Hope you're not offended.

I have two MGs - a '79 that I drive, and a '74 undergoing a very leisurely engine rebuild. I don't have my signature set up yet, but i'll be doing so soon.

For those of you who don't know me, I'm a software developer in St. Louis, MO. I've been into MGs since I was 16 (29 now) when my first car was that '74 MGB. I overheated the engine when I was 19 or 20 and it has sat in my dad's garage since. He's done some work on it, namely stripping it down and giving it a new paint job (not the original color - I'm a bit miffed about that still), and getting the engine out to do a rebuild... It's sat like that for some time (about 8 years or so) waiting to be put back together and driven. It *may* make it to MG2006, but I'm doubtful.

Lately, I've been getting into electronics, doing a few projects here and there for my car. Soon, I'll have a few projects that I'll be selling if people are interested.

Anyway, that's all for now - back to work...

Welcome, Kelly...since the '74 rebuild is 'leisurely' just repaint it!

Already been repainted. He tried to just put new bearings in the engine, but it clunked after that, so now that's what that new crank was for (that we got when Chuck and I came to see you). Now I've just gotta get dad to be interested in working on the car again!

darn, it's getting crowded in here! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Kinda reminds me of the time, maybe a dozen or so years ago, that our favorite dance club here in Memphis, called "Friends" - but it predated the TV show, burned. We had no choice but to go to another dance club (Coco Loco) while it was being repaired...and the place was jammed with the combination of their regulars and us newbies there! They even hung a sign over the dance floor welcoming their new "friends"! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Keep on dancin', y'all! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Heya Kelly.

Kelly belongs to our STL MG Club and is the guy that rode shotgun for Chuck when he went to Alabama (Tony's) to pick up Binabox.

hehehehe...& I'm Darth Vadar - kinda fits, eh?

Why's that? Because I've been around on MGBE for a while? I'm actually a relative newbie there too - only about 9 months.

Tony... You are my father! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/lol.gif

Ok, I posted on another thread but I'll post here also. I'M HERE ALSO! Yes, since MGBE is down I'll settle here. Actually I've been here before but it's been a long time. Got too caught up in engine rebuild, birth of a daughter (2nd) and body work on a 78 (I'm gonna "attempt" to paint it in my garage ala JDW style).

Glad to see so many familiar faces!

Steve - I am what you will become

LOLOLOL! That is too funny!

Steve your collection is growing! But "there is another...."
